Our #CSDGoBeavers students were given an energy design challenge in STEM class! The challenge was to design a wind turbine for Cumberland to generate backup power. 💨
They had the following design requirements:
🔻 The prototype must include a bevel gear and at least one other mechanism.
🔻 The prototype must transfer movement from the spinning blades (wind input) to the generator (output).
🔻 The prototype's output rotational speed should be faster than the input speed from the spinning blades.
Students sketched out their ideas, got approval from Mrs. Zip, then they built, coded and tested their turbine. AWESOME WORK engineers! 👍

🧫🦠 Our 6th graders dove into the wild world of living things, discovering that both unicellular and multicellular cells are indeed alive and kicking!
They rolled up their sleeves for the Barf Bag investigation, hunting for clues about yeast's cellular respiration—because who doesn't love a little science with a side of goo? 🔎 These #CSDGoBevare scientists pondered how cells chow down on food for energy and jotted down their findings, all while on a quest to unearth which breakfast cereal would be the ultimate yeast feast!

🛑 STOP right there...because this week is Wisconsin Adult School Crossing Guard Recognition Week!
We would like to recognize Mr. K. for all he does to provide a safe path to learning for children. Every day, he is the first to greet our #CSDGoBeavers students and the last to say goodnight. He provides an invaluable service by reinforcing safety in the minds of young people, and always does so with a friendly smile and wave. 😊👋 Thank you, Mr. K., for all you do!
