Soccer Team Ends Regular Season; At West Salem on Thursday
The Barron/Cumberland Soccer Team begins its WIAA D3 Tournament schedule this week with a trip to West Salem on Thursday for a 7:00 pm start. The winner will play the victor of Spooner/Shell Lake and Badwin-Woodville in a Regional Championship contest this Saturday at a time TBA.
The regular season ended with s 6-1 loss to Baldwin-Woodville and a 1-0 victory over St. Croix Central.
In their loss, the Baldwin-Woodville Blackhawks grabbed a 4-1 halftime lead and rolled to a victory over the Bears. They are a very talented team,” added Coach Sarah Stauner.
The victory was an exciting victory over the Panthers. “We came out and played the whole game a full 80 minutes with enthusiasm, energy, and grit,” added Stauner.
The games only score came when Barron/Cumberland scored with eight minutes left in the contest sand held on for the win.
