Dawson Johnson Takes First in High School Nationals

Cumberland Senior Dawson Johnson continued his outstanding wrestling career by taking first at the High School Nationals, which were held last weekend in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Patterned after the NCAA Championships, the tournament brought together top wrestlers from around the country to compete for All-American status, with past champions going on to Olympic and celebrated college careers.

Johnson went 6 and 0 during the three days of wresting to win the Senior Division at 138-pounds, adding to his impressive resume he takes to the University of Minnesota next fall. Johnson outscored his opponents 34 to 10 to achieve All-American status and take a National Title.
